Samara Mahendru creció en India, y pudo ponerse en contacto con múltiples tradiciones y artesanías textiles al viajar por ese país, un referente obligado al hablar de técnicas preciosistas de elaboración de telas. De esta influencia surge su cariño por los colores brillantes, los patrones, las telas suaves.

Actualmente Samara reside en New York y la mezcla entre las vivencias de la niñez y su vida actual han dado como resultado a la empresa de textiles MUNY.
